What Can Prenatal Support Include?

My prenatal services cover both the emotional and physical aspects of preparing for birth. Here are just a few examples of how I can support you:

  • Personalised Birth Planning: Together, we can work on your birth preferences to be shared with your midwife. During our 2-3 prenatal sessions, we’ll discuss different birth options and approaches, to help you feel confident about the decisions you make. We’ll also explore techniques like hypnobirthing, mindfulness, and relaxation exercises to prepare your body and mind for labour.

  • Nutritional Guidance: I encourage you to improve your diet and change your lifestyle to promote well-being during pregnancy. This holistic approach helps prepare your body for a gentle birth and postpartum recovery.

  • Birth Education & Emotional Support: You’ll receive evidence-based information about what to expect during labour and birth. We’ll also cover the emotional aspects of this journey, helping you feel mentally prepared for any challenges ahead. I’m here to answer your questions and provide reassurance throughout your pregnancy.

Why Choose Me for Prenatal Support in South West London?

  • Evidence-Based Practices with a Personal Touch: I combine my background in law with rigorous doula training to offer a service that is both research-based and compassionate. My approach is not only about physical support but also about ensuring you have the emotional and educational tools to experience birth with confidence.

  • Experience & Understanding: Having gone through my own fertility journey over nine years, I understand the complexities and emotions that accompany pregnancy. This personal experience allows me to connect deeply with you and offer genuine empathy and support.

  • Multilingual & Culturally Diverse Support: Originally from Brazil, I am fluent in both English and Portuguese, making my services accessible to a broader community in London. I completely understand that not everyone can have the support of their families around them, and I can be there to bridge that gap.

  • How soon after birth do you start offering postpartum support?
I begin offering support as soon as you return home from the hospital or birthing centre, or immediately after a home birth. My role is to help you settle into your new routine and provide guidance during the early days of parenthood.
  • Can you help with establishing a routine for my baby?
Yes, I offer guidance on creating a flexible routine that works for both you and your baby. This includes support with feeding, sleep patterns, and general newborn care to help make your days feel more manageable.
  • How do you support partners and other family members?
Postpartum support isn’t just for mothers. I also work with partners and other family members to help them adjust to the new family dynamic. This includes assisting on how they can best support the mother and baby during this transition.
